We live in a world of comparison. We compare our families, jobs, intellect, bodies, and so much more. A common insecurity that I hear often is about weight and physical appearance. These thoughts lead to unrealistic expectations and shame.

Insecurities exist because of past messages from others or thoughts that have been stuck from uncomfortable or harmful emotional moments. How much attention are you willing to give to an outdated narrative in your mind?

It is like reading an old news article. If you keep going back to outdated messages you are behind the time. What would you say to a friend who shared this type of insecurity with you? Would you agree with it or redirect and affirm your friend with empathy and compassion? Take the advice you would give to your friend and be kinder and gentler with yourself!

Don’t live in unhelpful messages from your past or outdated narratives. Live in your 2.0 self, thriving and moving forward!
