It takes work to be emotionally healthy. If you are like me, you are always learning new ways to be better. I have been talking with many about codependency, which is common if you were raised in a chaotic environment as a child.
These are signs that indicate that you need to work on your emotional skills.
Deep seated need for approval from others, seen by seeking validation from those around you.
Self worth based on what others think, obsessing about what you think they think about you.
Taking on too much and not asking for help. Getting caught up in either pleasing others or running yourself ragged.
Over Apologizing, taking blame to keep the peace.
Fear of conflict that leads to not speaking up or giving your perspective.
Neglecting your own needs & feeling guilty when self caring because you are overly focused on others.
Excessive concern about loved ones - their choices, feelings and needs.
Habit of fixing problems for others, instead of letting them figure out their problems.
Your mood is based on the mood of others.
Fear of rejection, insignificance, or abandonment.
If any of these areas persist in your life, it is important to address them. As you begin your day, remember that you are always worthy and competent. Everything is figureoutable. Focus on the path forward and carry your backpack securely along the journey of growth!
